That thicker, larger sweet spot really helps you go through those sections with pace and speed and it still feels like a really good board. It has a really kind of larger sweet spot that holds a lot of volume and you really notice that when waves, so you might be surfing waves a little bit better and it goes from good to a bit fat in going through sections. It has a fairly, I wouldn’t say aggressive but there’s rocker throughout the board and it has quite a thick, if you can see there through the centre it’s actually quite thick. The JS Air 17 Surfboard is a pretty standard performance shortboard, probably aimed towards better waves, but kind of works really well anywhere. Other surfers consider this site awesome. I don’t know why but it’s kind of a bit unique and I’m sure you can order around that but if you look for their stock dimensions on the website, that’s what they come in at. Interesting with the Air 17s is they all come at half dimensions, so it’s 5’10 1/2, 5’11 1/2, 6′ 1/2. I’ve been riding this at 5’11” 1/2 x 19 1/4 x 2 1/2, which is a little bit wider and thicker than the stock 5’11 1/2 dimensions.

The Air 17 has medium full rail and a single concave, which is quite aggressive. It’s fairly deep throughout the board, keeping a lot of speed and it keeps the board flowing and moving throughout the water.The outline isn’t too narrow throughout the nose and tail giving just the right balance for easy maneuverability.It features a fairly thick rocker through the middle of the board, a sweet spot that holds a lot of volume.It keeps a lot of volume and it’s not out of place in like average conditions. While the JS Air 17 Surfboard is designed probably up the scale of waves that are 2′ plus, kind of more that performance range, it doesn’t need to be like your perfect classic offshore pumping conditions.
